About Funnel

Funnel is a free, independent, nonpartisan tracker for the Iowa Legislature. It reads the public records the Legislature publishes at legis.iowa.gov, notices what changed, and emails people who follow those bills, committees or topics.

Funnel is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the State of Iowa, the Iowa Legislature, or the Legislative Services Agency. The official record is always legis.iowa.gov; every bill page here links to it.

How Funnel gets its information

Funnel checks the Legislature’s public feeds and pages on a schedule: meeting notices every 10 minutes during session, new bills and amendments every 20 minutes, and bill histories at least daily (hourly for bills people follow). It identifies itself as “FunnelBot” and keeps its request rate low.

Mistakes can happen when the Legislature’s pages change. If something looks wrong, check the official page and let us know.
