What’s in it
Cities may contract with other public agencies to provide fire protection and emergency medical services. This bill requires cities that contract with other cities or a township to provide such protection and services to establish a fire protection and emergency medical services fund, in which all moneys received from such townships and other cities for fire protection and emergency medical services shall be credited. Moneys in the fund shall be used only for providing fire protection and emergency medical services to the other cities or the portions of such townships outside the corporate limits of the city, as applicable. Any balances in a fire protection and emergency medical services fund at the end of a fiscal year shall remain in the fund.
