What’s in it

This bill relates to public accessibility to water sample data. The bill directs the director of the department of natural resources (department) to post water sample data on the department’s internet site. The database must allow users to search data by specific contaminant type, location, and public water supply system, and to filter results by the date the water sampling occurred. The bill requires the posted data to include the level of each tested possible contaminant, including nitrates, for all water sampling conducted by a public water supply system. The department’s internet site must be in compliance with the bill no later than six months after enactment.

From the explanation printed with the bill as introduced, written by the Legislative Services Agency. Amendments adopted later aren’t reflected. Full bill text
